Liza and Bill’s Ketubah
The main theme in Liza and Bill’s Ketubah is
the coming together of the Masculine and feminine principles on a personal,
earthly and cosmic level. The central symbol chosen was that of a Hamsa. The
Hamsa resembles a hand and it is a Middle Eastern symbol of protection and blessing.
Their text is contained within this symbol.
The bottom of the Ketubah represents the two as individuals.
The left side represents Liza. It is a magical world of water and fairies, like
Liza. The right side represents Bill and is designed from a photograph of one
of Bill’s favorite spots; his tree house overlooking a pond. What ties
these to separate places together is the tree in the center. Upon closer look,
you will notice there is an image of a couple embracing within the bark of the
tree. As your eyes scroll upward, you see a river flowing into the top of the
tree. Taking in the whole image, the tree becomes a Kiddush cup representing
the sanctity and Holiness of their union. The river represents the flow of abundance
that is channeled through creating the vessel of union.
